West Side Little League (WSLL) Volunteer 

How to Become a Volunteer

To serve as a volunteer (coach, assistant coach, or team manager) with West Side Little League, you must complete the following steps:

1. Register as a Volunteer (Sport Connect)

• Go to: WSLL Registration Site (Sport Connect)

• Log in to your account (same system used to register players)

• Select “Volunteer” and choose your role

2. Complete Volunteer Application

• Ensure all sections of the Little League Volunteer Application are completed

• Submit a government-issued photo ID

👉 IMPORTANT:

• Your application must be manually approved

• Once approved, you will be sent the external background check link

3. Complete Background Check (Required Annually)

• Complete the external nationwide background check sent after approval

• Includes:

  • Criminal history screening

  • Sex offender registry check

• Must be completed and cleared before participation

4. Complete Abuse Awareness Training (Annual)

• Complete the Little League Abuse Awareness Training

• Required every year (free online)

5. Complete Concussion Training (Every 2–3 Years)

• Required for coaches and managers

  6. Complete Diamond Leader Training 

• Free training through Little League

• Focuses on leadership and positive coaching
